Massed Bands, Pipes and Drums of the Army Cadet Force

Music has played an important role in the Army Cadet Force since its formation in 1859 and continues to do so to this day.

The self-discipline and teamwork required to learn to play a musical instrument in any ensemble fits perfectly within an organisation which has at its core the aim of "inspiring young people to achieve success in life".

Cadet Musicians, Pipers, Drummers and Buglers can be found throughout the Army Cadet Force's 53 Battalions and are sometimes the only public face of HM Armed Forces in their local communities.

The Massed Bands, Pipes and Drums of the Army Cadet Force taking part at the 2016 Birmingham International Tattoo are drawn from all four nations within the United Kingdom. They have come together especially for the Tattoo and are proud to represent the Army Cadet Force at such a prestigious event.

The Units taking part are the bands of the
- Black Watch,
- Lothian & Borders,
- Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Gwent & Powys
- 1st (Northern Ireland) Battalions

and the Pipes and Drums of the
- Black Watch, -
- Lothian & Borders,
